How Vitamin & Mineral Calculator is Calculated

This calculator uses the formula: Score = Sun Exposure Base × Skin Tone Multiplier × Age Multiplier. Where Optimal Vitamin D: 40–60 ng/mL ; Deficient: <20 ng/mL ; Insufficient: 20–30 ng/mL. Estimation only. Darker skin produces less vitamin D. Blood test (25-OH) is the gold standard. All calculations run entirely in your browser — no data is transmitted to any server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which vitamins are most commonly deficient in India?

Vitamin D (70–80% prevalence), Vitamin B12 (especially vegetarians), Iron (56% women are anemic), and Folic acid. Get Vitamin D from 20 minutes of midday sun, B12 from dairy or supplements if vegetarian.

Should I take a multivitamin supplement?

Not if you eat a balanced diet with variety. Targeted supplementation of Vitamin D (1,000–2,000 IU/day for Indians), B12 (for vegetarians), and Iron (for women with heavy periods) is more effective than multivitamins.
