BMI for Indians

  • 18.5–22.9 — Normal
  • 23–27.4 — Overweight

How BMI is Calculated

BMI = Weight (kg) ÷ Height² (m²). For 70 kg at 170 cm: 70/(1.70)² = 24.2

  • Overweight/Obese: Diabetes, heart disease, hypertension

Healthy Goals

Aim for BMI 18.5–22.9. Even a 5–10% weight reduction significantly improves health markers.
